History of the Brunch Map on the wall.

When i arrived to Salento years ago, I found it difficult to find my way around the streets and really didn't know what there was to do here.

...I found that there wasn't much information, especially in English on the different options, for example hiking, the lookout, coffee region and coffee tours, horseback riding, cicling, The Cocora and more...

Therefore when I opened Brunch I understood how visitors felt and just wanted to help so at first I would draw maps and help the costumers

Someone suggested that I paint a map on the wall, so I asked a local artist in town to help me paint it , (the entire wall) and thusly the Brunch wall map was born.

We have the map of the coffee region with all the coffee tour.

An amazing walk or maybe cycle or ride a horse with Don Oscar as your guide. You can take a Jeep as well...however its recommend do this amazing loop which takes you down to a large river, then follow the river to a small town called Boquía,  grab a 5 minute bus ride to Salento, this excursion alone can be an entire amazing day!!!

Take a pack lunch with you and chill at the river, feed the ducks, listen to the peaceful sound of  the waterfall, we will explain more when you arrive. Next is The Santa Rita waterfall, where you will go through two train tunnels built in 1930, cross a foot bridge and arrive at a beautifull waterfall, lake.

...you can swim there....cold? you ask? HELL YES!!

But you will remember this experience forever, belive it or not, many jump in!!!. We can arrange a horse guide as well to take you there.

Next, Cocora's Valley, first take a Jeep transport, they typically run at 6:30AM, 7:30AM and every hour after that.

It is recommended not much later than 9:30 AM (That's why it is a good idea to get to bed early every day here...save the partying for Cali and Medellín).

A beautiful 30 minute drive, when you arrive, start your journey by going through the blue gate to the right. Some will tell you it is better to go left but in our opinion it is not a good option.

On this journey you will see wax palm trees (tallest palm trees in the world) river, waterfalls, swimming holes, 7 swingwing foot bridges, over 300 types of birds, a mountain with tombs inside where people lived at one time years ago.

Also you will visit the hummingbird reserve, 10 different species, all different colors with unique long tails and much much more to see up there, last transporte Jeep to return is 6 PM so you can take your entire day if you like.

We have many more ideas for you to and enjoy your time here in Salento, at least 6 full days, if you want, also we can help you with ideas on your next destination, which bus to take is very important for example, if you take the wrong bus it could cost you many hours and money lost, after all these years here I learned from many mistakes and wrong information so that you don't have to!!

We can arrange private transportation as well for those that have time constraint issues with flights or you just do not like busses.

Remember, come to us at Brunch...all the information is free and IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO EAT HERE for any help that you need.

Papa Brunch.
